About This Site
Meridian AI is a fictional institution. It was created by Tag1 Consulting to demonstrate the capabilities of Scolta, an open-source AI-powered search platform for Drupal.
What You Are Looking At
This site is a Drupal 11 demonstration built to show how Scolta performs on a realistic, content-rich educational institution website. The site contains approximately 250-300 pages of content including:
- 12 degree and certificate program descriptions
- 60+ course descriptions across 6 academic schools
- Faculty profiles with research interests and publications
- Research project descriptions
- Substantive educational articles on AI topics
- Lecture pages with working code examples
- News items and institutional pages
All content was created to be technically accurate and educationally useful. The AI topics covered — transformer architecture, reinforcement learning, computer vision, AI ethics, MLOps — reflect real research areas with real-world significance. The code examples in lecture pages are functional.
What Scolta Does Here
The search bar at the top of this page uses Scolta to let you explore the site's content. Try asking questions rather than typing keywords:
- "How do transformers handle long documents?"
- "What courses cover reinforcement learning?"
- "Who teaches AI ethics at Meridian?"
- "How does Meridian's search system work?"
- "What is the difference between RLHF and DPO?"
Scolta uses Pagefind for static full-text indexing, Claude via the Anthropic API for query expansion and AI-generated overviews, and a custom BM25-based scoring layer. The result is a search experience that understands what you are asking, not just which words you used.
About Tag1 Consulting
Tag1 Consulting is one of the leading Drupal development and consulting firms in the world. Tag1 built and open-sources Scolta as a demonstration of what AI-augmented content discovery can look like on modern Drupal sites. For more information about Tag1 and Scolta, visit tag1.com.
The Impossible Geography
Astute readers will note that the geography described on this site — coastal redwoods, desert mesa, freshwater sea with lake-effect snow, all in the same location — is physically impossible. This is intentional. Real universities exist; fictional demonstrations should be clearly fictional.
Reuse and Attribution
The technical content on this site was written to be educationally accurate. If you find a lecture page or article useful for learning, you are welcome to use it. The site itself is a demo; the educational content is legitimately useful.
If you are evaluating Scolta for your organization and have questions about how this demo was built or how to implement Scolta for your use case, contact Tag1 Consulting.
